Better Tomorrow, the parent organization of Advocates of Routt County and the Brighter World Child Advocacy Center, stands in solidarity with people who need access to safe legal abortion services.
The freedom to make one’s own reproductive decisions is a fundamental right and inextricably linked with our collective mission of empowering people. We recognize that reproductive coercion is a common tactic in abusive relationships, and therefore access to both preventative reproductive health care and abortion is essential for survivors of this type of violence. We acknowledge that sexual violence takes away a survivor’s bodily autonomy, and regaining control of their body is crucial to healing. The ability to decide when to have a child is necessary for not only the parent’s physical, financial, and emotional health, but also that of their children and families. We trust survivors to decide what is best for them in their journey toward safety and healing.
